Today, the blueFACTORY redesign project goes into high gear, with the commencement of the Urban Development Contest (information on www.simap.ch). The State and the Canton of Fribourg chose this open procedure  inviting multidisciplinary teams, to present a global concept for blueFACTORY site. Contestants have till January 20, 2013 to submit their proposals. More information

Since September 1st, the start-ups of Friup and the blueFACTORY office are working in the main building where the administration of the old brewery was once located. Surely, a place so full of history will encourage the creativity and dynamism of the Friup entrepreneurs...

 

No summer break at blueFACTORY!

The play, "Je suis à Cardinal," which ran to several successful performances at blueFACTORY, has just been concluded. And not a moment too soon, as the organisers of the art exhibition Artposition12, to be held at blueFACTORY during 10-12 Aug, are already preparing the premises to showcase the works of 160 European artists. Alongside this, the Fribourg Police and Fire Brigade are conducting regular drills at the blueFACTORY site. Besides, building renovation is starting soon so that the blueFACTORY office and Fri-up can move in next September.

blueFACTORY idea forum

Work on Fribourg’s new Technology Park is well under way. From today until 29 February 2012, the people of Fribourg and anyone interested in the development of the canton are invited to help shape this exciting project, either by contributing to the idea forum or by submitting their own project proposal.
The new innovation district is projected to be open in 2014. Until then, the park and the idea forum will be known by their working title of “blueFACTORY”: blue to reflect the energies of the future, and factory as a testament to the site’s industrial history.

The best ideas are the result of a collaborative effort. The Technology Park is an inclusive project in which any willing contributors can play a role in its development. Do you want to participate? Do you have a proposal for a business or service, or an innovative idea on how best to integrate the park in to the city’s existing landscape? Maybe you want to organize an event at the park.  If so, head directly to “Your ideas”.
